Lots of people are considering getting chicks this spring to raise their own chickens for eggs. Here’s something you don’t see in your typical grocery store carton of eggs — a double yolker. Don’t let the green grass fool you—it is still only March 1. But the warm weather lately has me dreaming about opening the egg stand again soon. In fact, you should expect it to be open at least once per week starting next week (if the weather holds out). As our new chicks from last season continue to lay and our older girls are beginning again, we have a surplus of eggs.
